  • Kim Troxall

I'm a graphic designer based in Lexington, KY and I create the weekly episode artwork for Unspooled

My collaboration with the show started in August 2018, when Paul tweeted a request to put his and Amy’s faces on a Sixth Sense poster. I posted a replied with a DVD cover mockup, and after it got a big response, I asked if they’d like me to keep creating art for them. They said yes—and 7 years and 300+ episodes later, I’m still at it, doing my best to give the show a fun, consistent style and trying to make someone question whether this is a real image or Photoshop each week.

My absolute favorite part of the process is digging into the original posters and art tied to each film and I am consistently surprised just how much I learn, not only about the movies, but about design as well.

Also, for the record: Jaws is a perfect movie and a perfect poster.
